A Los Angeles jury awarded $8.15 million to the family of a pre-school teacher killed while saving a three-year-old from a runaway bus. Sara Quezada was helping to chaperone almost 30 students on a field trip to the Los Angeles Zoo when a bus left running while on a slope began rolling backwards. Ms. Quezada ran to grab the child and shield him with her body. She was killed and the child suffered a broken pelvis from which he fully recovered.
Browne Greene of Greene Broillet & Wheeler represented Ms. Quezada who was posthumously honored by various agencies for her sacrifice.
